‘Gum base’ means that the main ingredient of the product is gum. The formula of the gum base of FIRST is secret, but it goes without saying that it contains rubber compounds.
Caffeine is a white, rather bitter substance found in around 60 plants, such as guarana, cacao, tea leaves and coffee beans. The known substance that contains caffeine is a so-called alkaloid. Alkaloids have a stimulating effect on the central nervous system. The caffeine and vitamins in FIRST are synthetically produced to guarantee a consistently high-quality product.
Maltitol is a polyol (or sugar alcohol) that is used as a sugar substitute. It has 90% of the sweetness of sugar and is made from malt sugar (maltose), corn and wheat. It has a sweet taste – without residual flavors – and is used a lot in the production of candy.
Spearmint is often just called mint. If you have ever planted your own mint in the yard, or bought it at the supermarket to make tea with, it’s more than likely that it was spearmint. When you compare it to peppermint, spearmint is just as fresh, but has a slightly sharper taste.
Xylitol was first extracted from Finnish birch trees in the beginning of the 20th century. It is produced by most living organisms such as trees, plants, animals and even people. Xylitol is a good ingredient to make chewing gum with because it’s not only nice and sweet, but also good for your teeth. Xylitol contains 40% fewer calories and has a lower glycemic index than regular sugar. Our xylitol is extracted from corn. That way we are certain that there are no GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in our product.
Vitamines Niacine (B3), B6, B12
Niacin is important for the energy supply and plays a role in the production of fatty acids in the body. Vitamin B6 is important for the metabolism, especially the breakdown and build-up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. It regulates the functioning of certain hormones and is necessary for growth, blood production and a good functioning of the immune system. Vitamin B12 is required to produce red blood cells and for a good functioning of the nervous system.
